ZA Show #165: We bid you farewell

Posted by The ZA Show on 21 Nov 2009 | Tagged as: podcasts

With an hour long show, we highlight the last 4 years of the show as we bid farewall from our microphones to your ears.

We decided to break all the rules and play you 3 of my favourite tracks from great SA artists.

  • Prime Circle - Miracle
  • Parlotones - I’ll be there
  • Jesse Clegg - Today

Emails, comments and audio comments were played.  We talk about the highlights of the past 4 years with all the people we have met, the interviews, the soundseeing tours, the production of the show, the events that we covered, our opinions and so much more as well as the opportunities that the show gave us. We speak about 2010 and the World Cup and how this event springs up a lot of excitement with myself and all other South Africans.

We pretty much winged it all the way with some great audio highlights too.

Another highlight that I cannot leave out, although I forgot speak about it, is ZATV with the making of biltong and other videos that we did.

I also want to thank Bridgitte for being such an awesome co-host, although not present during any shows since Josh’s birth, she has brought such an awesome dynamic to the show.

We are going to miss the show, but we are still here, so please keep in touch!

So with all the emotions running high, we thank you very much indeed and enjoy our last show.  It is a blast to do and I hope that it is a blast to listen to as well.

ps:  I do apologize for all the baby talk from Joshua during the show.

ZA Show #164: It is time to hang up the headphones

Posted by The ZA Show on 07 Nov 2009 | Tagged as: podcasts

This show is just to announce that it is with regret that I announce that The ZA Show is coming to an end.  It is a decision that took me around 2 months to make and although it is a very heart wrenching one, and as bad as I feel that I am leaving our listeners in the lurch and as devostrating that is to me and to you, it is for the best.  It is just such a pity that this has to happen only 200 odd days before the 2010 Soccer World Cup, which in turn is going to attact many visitors to our country.

But as they say, the show is only over until the fat lady has sung and it is in that spirit that we won’t just leave you just like that.  We are going to do our last show and I really hope that you’ll join us live on uStream or by contributing in the form of any feedback to that show that we’ll be recording.  Of course, the show will be available afterwards too.

We are recording ZA Show #165 on Saturday, 21st of November @ 2pm SA time.  The show will be streamed live on uStream so please come to The ZA Show website to watch us record our final show.

We also ask that you please send us your feedback in the form of e-mails, audio comments or by calling into the voicemai line at +1-206-426-6013.

Bridgitte will be joining me on the show and we’ll be talking about the last 4 years.

So take a listen below and we hope to hear from you.

Where is the show?

Posted by The ZA Show on 12 Jul 2009 | Tagged as: podcasts

Hi folks,

There hasn’t been a show for sometime now, but I thought I’d chime in to say that one is well on its way.  A slower rate of shows coming out is usually a sign that things are eventually going to come to an end, but in this case, it is not true - for now, that is.

With the 2010 World Cup only a year from now, putting a stop to The ZA Show is something that I wouldn’t do very lightly, actually not at all.  I’ll rather release a show once a month or so, than stop the whole thing altogether.

I really hope that you continue to listen in and keep up-to-date on everything that is going down in SA.

Yours,

~Glen
