About …
Welcome to The ZA Show Podcast. The ZA Show Podcast is produced by Glen and Bridgitte Verran who reside in the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa.
When you listen to the show, you’ll be faced with a very informal, relaxed, down-to-earth show dynamic where we love talking about anything South African from our culture, our viewpoints on local news, soundseeing tours of places we visit, interviews, why we say braai instead of barbeque, what biltong and droĆ«wors is, also to throw in a couple of Afrikaans, Xhosa and Zulu words and play the very best in South African podsafe music.
With the 2010 Football World Cup coming to South Africa in 3 years time, we intend keeping our listeners up-to-date on the latest developments as we get them.
We started The ZA Show because we love this beautiful country and its people and want to promote it as much as possible as well as encourage you to make Cape Town, South Africa, your next travel destination. We would also like to educate those who don’t know much on what is going on down here.
We have a thriving tourism market and what better way, by using the power of podcasting, for prospective and past visitors to gain insight on life down here. There is also a huge SA ex-pat community out there and we also love to bring news and familiar sights and sounds from home.
The ZA Show is also involved in encouraging South African artists and indie labels to register and upload tracks to the Podsafe Music Network. We are working very hard to get as many SA artists and labels on board as possible. We have had some great artists register so far and would like to encourage more and more to register and upload tracks. SA music is of utmost quality and deserves all the promotion it can get, locally and internationally.
Glen works as a software engineer at a local IT company while Bridgitte works as a visual therapist. We have been married for close on 4 years and have 2 beautiful Labradors to keep us company.
We hope you enjoy the show and please don’t hesitate to provide us with feedback.
